Expat in Croatia was started by Sara Dyson who moved to Split from Texas back in 2012 when there was barely any information resources available for foreigners. Sara went through all bureaucratic challenges and became a pro for any legal issues that you might face. We locals know what that can mean for foreigners coming from the west where you have never been introduced to charming leftovers of socialist system in the shape of labyrinths and illogical networks of procedures, pointless paperwork, grumpy bureaucrats and various mysterious institutions spread all over the city (don’t be scared things have eased a lot in the meantime).
