One of the indicators that we are living in a truly wonderful times is that we now have a variety of affordable options for flat rate mobile internet! No more complaining about the lack of internet connection or slow overcrowded networks. Croatia is well covered with 4G and you get decent 3G signal in some of the remote places like on the top of Velebit mountain. And soon we will have access to 5G network because the entire EU is rapidly working on implementing appropriate infrastructure so if that is not a mind control programme like some enthusiasts claim we will have superfast internet everywhere! Ok here is the list and some guidance how to get your mobile flat rate internet while you are here.
In short Tele2 rulz
THIS IS NOT AFFILIATE LINK OR ANYTHING THIS IS PERSONAL EXPERIENCE! The youngest and coolest operator on Croatian market is Tele2. They offer credit based contract free system. You can buy their SIM cards and credits online, in most of the kiosks and even in some grocery stores. Text BEZBROJGB1000 to the 13888 number and you are all set (BEZBROJ means infinite – BEZ stands for NO and BROJ for NUMBER – nonumber meaning infinite). That will also give you a 1000 min and/or SMS for a month. The whole thing costs 199kn at the moment.
The other players like Tomato and BonBon do have the flat internet option but it is limited to 5 day and 7 day periods. And we don’t really like T-Com (No URL for you!) since they are the largest and most powerful player on the market that has been ripping of Croatians ever since 1998 while offering much lower competitive prices in western developed countries where they have fierce competition. They are truly acting monopolistic here and they still cheap out by not offering flat internet for longer than 5 days.
